Statewide Primary Election 2022

The California Statewide Primary Election will be conducted locally by the Santa Cruz County Clerk's Office / Elections Department. This election takes place in June, with the official election date of Tuesday, June 7, 2022. There are several ways to vote in this election: 

1) Vote Using the Ballot Mailed to You

All active registered voters will be mailed an official Vote By Mail ballot packet starting May 9. Once you've filled it out, mail your ballot using the pre-paid return envelope, or drop it in one of the secure 24/7 Official Ballot Boxes in our County. There is a ballot box in front of Capitola City Hall in the free one-hour parking lot. 

2) Vote Early in-Person

You can vote early in-person on June 4 and June 5 at in-person voting locations from 9am to 5pm. Voting locations will be posted on the Santa Cruz County website. 

3) Vote in Person 

You can vote in-person on June 7 at several locations throughout the County, including New Brighton Middle School. For a list of in-person voting locations, click this link. Any voter can go to any location. COVID-19 protocols will be strictly followed.
