The Department of Public Works for the City of Capitola is currently advertising for bids for the construction of the following project:

The Park at Rispin mansion

General work description:

Park development at Wharf Rd and Clares Street (APN: 035-371-01), City of Capitola, CA. This 0.86-acre community park will provide primarily passive recreational opportunities with a focus on the site’s cultural, historical, and open space resources.  The project includes restoration of several historic features of the property, including the entry staircase, grand staircase, reflection pool, sundial, fountain, arbor, interior walls, and other ornamental elements.  New amenities include an amphitheater, benches, trash receptacles, a bocce ball court, a children’s nature play area, chess tables, planters, bike racks, a drinking fountain, security lighting, interpretative displays and signage, ADA compliant pathways, gardens, and landscaping.  The project would also include a native oak demonstration garden and a Monarch butterfly demonstration garden with interpretive signage. There are no improvements or alterations proposed to the mansion building.

The total estimated cost of construction is $949,000

All proposals for the above-mentioned work will be received by the City of Capitola, County of Santa Cruz, State of California by

Wednesday, March 1, 2023 @ 11:00 AM at the Capitola City Hall, 420 Capitola Avenue, Capitola, California 95010.

All proposals shall be in sealed envelopes plainly endorsed
